Our mission is to help people get better by offering access to personalized treatment planning, ongoing wellness support and education, and healthcare’s best supplements. To build a better user experience for practitioners and their patients, we’re always working to improve these three key areas of the Fullscript product.
Fueled by direct user feedback, we’ve implemented dozens of new updates already in 2022. While each provides an important solution, we wanted to highlight nine updates in particular that directly help practitioners to create more robust treatment plans, build patient adherence, and take advantage of new partnerships.

Easy-to-use tools to create robust treatment plans
We want to help practitioners write more powerful treatment plans, without adding to their workload. That’s why we’ve added a new way to search in the Fullscript catalog, a place to save commonly-used messages, and over 140 new patient handouts in the Resource Library.
1. Condition Search
Based on practitioner feedback, Fullscripters indicated that Condition Search should be the top priority to add to the Fullscript catalog. Now, using the search function in the catalog, practitioners and patients can write “support” to get a list of condition categories or can type in the keyword of the specific condition they’re looking to address, such as “sleep.”
To further refine results, users can select other search filters, such as add/exclude ingredients, brands, certifications (such as vegan), allergens, or the format of the supplement (such as liquid vs. tablet).
Practitioners will be able to save hours of research time while simultaneously learning about ingredients to support specific conditions. Users can feel confident knowing that all research around ingredients is evidence-based and curated by other practitioners.
2. Snippets
We’ve added Snippets to help practitioners write more consistent and thorough treatment plans — in a fraction of the time. More than just greetings, practitioners can create and save a library of their own templated messages to quickly pull from while writing a treatment plan.
It couldn’t be easier to add a new message to your Snippets library. Any message typed in the treatment plan text box can be saved and added to the user’s list of custom snippets via “Save as snippet”. A practitioner’s entire list of snippets can be viewed directly via “View snippet library” or indirectly via “View content library”.
From important instructions, directions, reminders, or even legal disclaimers, Snippets ensure treatment plans always contain the necessary information. So long, copy and paste!
3. New patient handouts in the Resource Library
Did you know? Adherence strategies that incorporate education are 16% more likely to boost treatment plan adherence, compared to strategies that don’t. (1)
Based on these findings, we’ve added over 140 patient handouts to the Resource Library to help patients better understand their treatment plan. All resources are clear, concise, and supported by visual aids, making it easy for patients to digest without becoming overwhelmed.
Practitioners can seamlessly search right within their account for guides, worksheets, and infographics from categories including nutrition, lifestyle, health conditions, and more. All resources can be saved to “My library” so industry-leading content can be easily shared with one, many, or all patients directly in the treatment plan tool.
Each resource is carefully written and reviewed by our Integrative Medical Advisory Team and professionally designed by our in-house creative team. Using this feature, create your most complete prescription or protocol and give your patients a better understanding of getting better.
“As a practitioner, we’re always looking for different ways to reinforce the information that we say. Patient resources save me a tremendous amount of time reiterating this information.” – Deena Schwartz, NP
Resources to build patient adherence
Many of the improvements we’ve made enhance the practitioner experience specifically. With this in mind, we also wanted to ensure we’re building an engaging patient experience as well.
With a more flexible Autoship service, better discounting functionality, and clearer patient notifications, practitioners can leverage Fullscript to give patients a better experience — leading to improved patient engagement and adherence.
4. Autoship improvements
Autoship empowers your patients to improve treatment plan adherence by scheduling orders on Fullscript. We’ve made Autoship more flexible for patients by giving them the ability to modify payment methods and change their shipping and billing addresses right within their accounts.
Highly requested by many patients, this improvement further enables patients to order the wellness products they need, when they need them – all without adding to their to-do lists or yours. Stay tuned for even more Autoship updates in 2022!
5. Patient import first order discounts
Previously, first order discounts could only be applied on a one-by-one basis, but not anymore. Now, practitioners can assign first order discounts when using the patient import tool, cutting down the time it takes to distribute savings from hours to minutes.
From the patient’s perspective, the addition of a first order discount triggers a notification for them when they log in and then again in their recommendation. This is a great way to motivate patients to begin their wellness journeys and it can now be done in one fell swoop.
Did you know? In a 2021 survey of patients on Fullscript, 57% of respondents agreed that a more affordable health plan is needed to manage and adhere to their treatments. (2)
6. Treatment plan update notifications
Historically, when a practitioner has made an update to a treatment plan, their patient has never been prompted by Fullscript to sign in and view the updates. Now a thing of the past, practitioners can help to keep patients on track just by clicking the “Update prescription” button.
When a practitioner makes edits to a treatment plan, the patient will automatically receive an email notification. If multiple changes are made in a day, this feature is intuitive so that a patient will only receive a maximum of one update per day.
This update ensures patients are more easily able to follow recommendations from their practitioner. With more clarity, patients can feel more ownership of their health journey.
New partnerships to leverage better outcomes
With updates tailored to the practitioner workflow and the patient experience respectively, there are other key areas of the platform that are critical to both user groups. Practitioners and patients alike can benefit from our acquisition of Emerson Ecologics and its Wellevate platform, the addition of Thorne products, and two new integration partners.
7. Emerson Ecologics
We are beyond excited about our recent acquisition of Emerson Ecologics and its Wellevate platform. As one, we’re poised to reach more practitioners and patients, offering them both a simpler path to lifelong wellness.
Leveraging the strength that both businesses provide, we will give practitioners and their patients an improved platform experience. This means you can expect access to even more high-quality supplements and wellness brands, diagnostic testing, and an expanded distribution network.
8. Thorne products
You can now add high-quality supplements by Thorne to your treatment plans, encourage patients to self-serve, or order wholesale (US only) to dispense in-office — all in your Fullscript account.
Every Thorne product is developed from extensive clinical research and medical literature that substantiates the presence of each ingredient in their formulas. This research not only confirms every product’s efficacy but improves Thorne’s understanding of their outcomes allowing for new discoveries.
9. New integrations
Fullscript integrations work with your favorite HIPAA compliant patient record and health platforms to help practitioners save time and reduce administrative burden. We’ve added two new partners to our list of 20 available integration partners.
The addition of Flöka helps practitioners meet patients where they are. With advanced features that help you move the needle on behavior and real-time data from existing integrations and wearables — Flöka gets to outcomes faster.
We’ve also added Toolbox Genomics to our lineup. With end to end genetics and epigenetics solutions, CLIA/CAP certified labs, and integrative practice management features, practitioners can drive better outcomes — all in one place.
The bottom line
As 2022 goes on, we will continue to listen to comments and suggestions from our users to further improve the platform. From enhancing the treatment plan tool, offering more ways to build patient education and adherence, and providing more ways to offer care, we’re only just getting started.
